The Layne Studio 4 Dance opened in 1969 in Weston, WV.
Since then, a legacy of dance and experiences have been
created. In 1976, the Mitzi Layne International Dance Troupe,
now known as the Layne Dance troupe, began its performance
tours throughout the countries of Romania and Bulgaria,
followed by additional performances in the countries of Poland,
Czechoslovakia, England, Scotland, Wales and Greece through
the auspices of Friendship Ambassadors Foundation. These
performance tours were by audition/ invitation only. After that
the dance center ventured out and performed through the
Ministries of Tourism in the Caribbean Islands of Bahamas,
Aruba, Curacao, Bermuda and Jamaica. They then added
performance tours in Canada and Mexico as well as national
performances at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Idlewild
Park , Kennywood Park, Nashville Country Hall of Fame in
Tennessee as well as numerous parades in Pittsburgh, NYC and
Clarksburg, WV. and numerous regional and national competitions.
In 2010, the center began operating under the name of Layne Studio 4 Dance,
owned and operated by Misty Layne Aiello and Mitzi Layne.
This dance center engaged in its most recent performance tours to NYC,
The USS Intrepid, Disneyworld,Universal Studios, Kennywood Park,
Wildwood Showcase of Stars, Idlewild Park, Sagebrush Round-Up
as well as a national competition for Sophisticated Productions and a
halftime performance at Salem International University. Currently, the
Robinson Grand Theater is the local venue for the Layne Dancers,
thus giving the local artists a professional setting in which to experience.
Now, though this COVID 19, pandemic has weakened the way
in which to practice the love of dance, the Layne Studio 4 Dance
will overcome this in a positive and productive manner. Our agenda
will be planned, so as not to decrease each student’s passion for dbut at the same time, keep safety as our main priority.
